The Bethal Polocrosse Club hosted the South African Polocrosse Championshipover three exciting days of play recently.

In the end Arnot and Bethal A teams won the A Division Championship Channey Cup and A Division Handicap Allisons National Open Division trophy respectively.

The B and C Divisions were also decided over the three days of the championship, with teams from Inanda, Walkerville, Saints and Huhudi participating for ultimate glory.

Johan de Jager on Knock-Knock was awarded the Robin Sparks Memorial Trophy for the best horse and rider, as well as the Paul Oldfield Memorial Trophy for most worthy number three.

Nicola van Aswegen’s Kafupi was named as the Mascon Golden Pony.

Ben Cilliers was named the Farmers Weekly Umpire of the Year and Andrew Heynes was awarded the George Rautenbach Memorial Trophy for Player of the Year.

Walkervillle received top honours as the best turned out club.

Ross Beukes received the Robbie Odell Memorial Trophy for the most goals scored in a single chukka in the A Division.
