1834 Tactical hosts Krav Maga classes
Besides self-defence techniques, Krav Maga Bullyproofing also helps with fitness and development of young children.
If your child is being bullied both in or out of school or as an adult you feel you need some form of defence moves to help defend yourself should an attack happen on you, then be sure not to miss the Krav Maga classes that are hosted by 1834 Tactical every week.
Krav Maga Bullyproofing Fitness offers young children from the ages of five to 14 years a twice-weekly class on Tuesday and Thursday from 17:15 to 18:00 and teaches children how to use basic defence moves when finding themselves in situations.
Besides self-defence techniques, Krav Maga Bullyproofing also helps with the fitness and development of young children.
“We teach children what to do if they are under attack and what to do even before an attack happens,” said Ms Nadia Alberts.
Krav Maga Bullyproofing also teaches observation in what would be described as a fun and playful environment.
“We do not do any grading. Self-defence is not about grading, it is about life and death,” said Ms Alberts.
More classes will be introduced early next year on Mondays and Wednesdays for ages from five to seven years.
There is also space available for homeschooling groups which take place on Thursdays from 08:30.
Adult classes are available on Tuesday and Thursday from 18:15.
Krav Maga classes do not only focus on self-defence moves but are also a great way to keep fit.
Adult classes are mixed with both women and men.
“It does not help if we only do men’s class or women’s class. Women need to know what it feels like if a man grips them by their throat and they need to proceed with moves to defend themselves,” said Ms Alberts.
As for teens, they are first observed. If their maturity levels are not up to par for adult classes, they are required to join the junior phase classes to learn the basics and then proceed to the adult classes.
Krav Maga classes cater for all age groups with the current oldest person being 65 years old.
“You adapt according to your age or fitness levels. Some people can do 50 burpees where some can only do 20 burpees. It is not about the time or how much you can do, it is about yourself,” explained Ms Alberts.
The classes begin with 10 to 15min of fitness, basic strikes and kicks and afterwards the techniques of self-defence.
Each class caters for a maximum of 20 people, therefore, bookings are essential.
For more information, contact Ms Alberts on 064 908 0253 (adult classes) or Ms Alida de Beer on 082 442 4272 (children’s classes) or visit the 1834 Tactical Facebook page for more details.
Techniques are taught to merely teach one how to defend oneself, therefore if techniques are used to purposely bully others or to inflict harm on others, that person will immediately be kicked out of classes and will not be able to return, as such behaviour will not be tolerated.
