Delmas Gymnastics Club is up and going strong again
Florence Cindi, the 28-year old owner of the club is herself a professional acrobat coach and judge with Springbok colours in Acrobatic Gymnastics.
The Delmas Gymnastics Club was founded in 2019 by Florence Cindi and Shenique Jansen van Rensburg.
“After a few months, Janse van Rensburg left the club and the Covid-19 pandemic also negatively affected the club as the number of gymnasts declined,” said Cindi.
According to Cindi, it is, however, slowly picking up again.
Cindi, the 28-year-old owner of the club is a professional acrobatics coach and judge with Springbok colours in acrobatic gymnastics.
Cindi is very excited about the upcoming competitions such as the Springs Stars and 24 Seven Gymnastics in July, which will be hosted by Trampoline in Benoni. On August 27.
The Delmas Gymnastics Club will host the Mpumalanga trials on October 8 and 9, and the provinces will be coming together in Pretoria for the SAs.
The young and upcoming club has performed well in previous competitions.
The trio Mia Kroukamp, Lindokuhle Masuku and Jolindi Struwig obtain a silver medal in level 5 U/13 in Witbank on April 27.
Juneke du Toit, Dané Hurter, and Zannicka de Jager also achieved a silver medal in Level 4, U/11.
In the women’s pair, Leane van der Merwe and Mika Kruger obtained a silver medal in Level 4 U/ 13 and Zannicka de Jager and Somila Ncube claimed a silver medal in Level 5 in the U/13 age group.
In mixed pairs, Marcus van Staden and Mia Kroukamp obtained silver in Level 5 U/11.
The club competed at the Gymfinity Club in Benoni on May 28, where once again they did exceptionally well.
In the trio, Mia Kroukamp, Lindokuhle Masuku and Jolindi Struwig obtained a bronze medal, level 5 U/13.
Juneke du Toit, Dane Hurter and Zannicka de Jager clinched a bronze medal, level 4 in the U/11 age group.
In women’s pairs, Leane van der Merwe and Mika Kruger secured a gold medal in Level 4, U/13 and Zannicka de Jager and Somila Ncube received a bronze medal, Level 5 U/13.
In the mixed pair category, Marcus van Staden and Mia Kroukamp clinched gold in Level 5 in the U/11 age group.
The acrobats also competed at Lifido on June 25.
Mia Kroukamp, Lindokuhle Masuku and Jolindi Struwig received a bronze medal, Level 5 in the U/13 age group.
The Delmas Gymnastics Club practises on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:30 until 18:00.
“If you are six years and older, and interested in becoming part of the Delmas Gymnastics Club, you are welcome to join us,” said Cindi.
