More than 50 participants at Standerton parkrun

Andiswamahlubi Hadebe crossed the finish line in a time of 23:09, followed by Adam Marzugi who recorded 25:12 in his first event.

Enthusiasm for the parkrun is not waning since 54 participants took on the 5km on August 19 at 08:00. Altogether five athletes improved their times and six new faces joined in the exercise at the Standerton River Park.

Andiswamahlubi Hadebe crossed the finish line in a time of 23:09, followed by Adam Marzugi who recorded 25:12 in his first event.

Reneilwe Tsotetsi registered a new personal best of 25:45, while Theo Schönfeldt came in at 25:55 and Zigi Dhlamini at 26:13 in his first event.

JD van Niekerk completed the distance in 27:14, Janko van der Linden a new personal best in 28:10, Andrew Ainsworth in 29:02 and Thikolelwi Mudau in 29:47, who competed in his 50the event.

Nitin Daya ran a time of 30:29, Patricia Mudau 31:07, Frans Vermaak 31:19, Mphakiseng Tsotetsi 32:45 in his 50th event and Brendan Archer, also in his 50th, 33:35.

Antoinette Herbst, Charl van Wyk, Jan Lombaard, Johannes Vosloo, Lenadri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Mialieze Smith, Preynaka Dorasamy, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Wessel Herbst, Willy Smith and Zeldine Strydom took up positions to ensure a smooth and safe event.

The parkrun is free of charge and offers walkers, joggers, athletes the opportunity to compete against themselves.
