Netball is booming in Region 7
Rethabiseng hosted the netball tournament for male and female teams.
The Tshwane Region 7 netball co-ordinator, David Mahlangu, hosted the Back to Bibs netball tournament at the Rethabiseng Sports Centre on January 27.
The tournament targeted all netball teams around Bronkhorstspruit, Cullinan and Mamelodi.
The respective men’s and women’s netball teams that participated were Nam Fierce, Nellmaphias Diamond, Dynamite Divas, Mighty Panthers, DC Rangers, Proper Girls and the Golden Eagles.
The invitation team, LMF Netball Club from KwaMhlanga, hosted the tournament.
Mighty Panthers won the men’s division, the Golden Eagles won the silver medal, and LMF came third.
Mighty Panthers also won the women’s division and clinched the gold medal, followed by Golden Eagles, and the Dynamite Divas were third.
Mahlangu was excited to see so much talent in netball.
“It gave me hope that we have future stars in Tshwane. I am also happy to see the growth of netball in the men’s division.”
Mahlangu invited locals to take up netball and join the respective teams.
