Four newcomers take on parkrun in Standerton

The volunteers who made this event possible, are Charl van Wyk, Daniel Wright, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Marion Jean Robertson, Noluthando Zweni, Preyanka Dorasamy, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Strini Naidoo, Sylvy Moodley and Zeldine Strydom.

The Standerton River Park parkrun hosted its 284th event on February 8, attracting 70 recurring participants and four newcomers.

Bongane Mpokane was the only runner at this event who set a new personal best time. He finished the 5km at 17:43.

Tshiamo Lephoto finished the 5km route at 16:44, followed by Eugene Viljoen (26:13) and Parth Jayram (28:21).
Kevin Armitage finished the run at 29:50.

Andrew Ainsworth clocked a time of 30:07 and Ayanda Dlamini completed the run in 30:59.
