Evander High School’s soccer boys dominate on home ground

Goalkeeper, Thando Ndhlela, showed that he can function under different amounts of pressure.

Evander High School’s first boys soccer team dominated on their home ground in a match played against Thistle Grove Combined School on Saturday, September 3.

EHS wreaked havoc when they scored two goals within the first six minutes of the match.

They went on to beat Thistle Grove with a whooping 6–1.

The players functioned well as a team and showed composure, confidence, readiness and leadership.

Goalkeeper, Thando Ndhlela, showed that he can function under different amounts of pressure.

He was on top of shot-stopping with excellent reflexes but also showed different dynamics such as distribution, sweeping up, aggressive positioning and improved athleticism.

Hlulani Mkubukeli and Siphesihle Mgabi scored two goals each with Siyabonga Mthethwa scoring one goal and Bongane Nkosi also scoring a goal.

EHS’s U/17 team also came out tops when beating Thistle Grove 3–2.
