Community rallies to donate blood during blood drive in Secunda

The 104 donations could help save as many as 312 lives.

The community came together in a powerful show of support for a blood drive organised by RE/MAX Homefinders, in partnership with SSV Attorneys and GTR/MCR, for SANBS.

The event, held on June 18, drew 104 donors, underscoring the town’s commitment to saving lives through life-saving donations.

The turnout was a success, and the life-saving potential of each pint of blood was noted. Based on SANBS’ standard of three lives saved per pint, the 104 donations could help save as many as 312 lives.

Those unable to attend the drive at the venue were reminded that blood donations remain welcome at the Secunda SANBS building, located at the Grand Palace on Heunis Street.

The SANBS centre maintains regular hours to accommodate donors.
