Two-week-old baby girl allegedly kidnapped in the Princess Informal Settlement area

This a developing story.

The odious crime of child kidnapping is once again in the spotlight. The potential use of children as a commodity to be bought, sold or exchanged is a vile stain on society and needs to be eradicated.

Credible sources report that a two-week-old baby girl has been forcefully taken from her rightful guardians on Friday, 25 September.

The incident is said to have occurred in the vicinity of the C.R Swart and Ondekkers Road intersection at roughly midday.

Details are unconfirmed at this stage but it is alleged to involve a couple whose custody of their child had been revoked by the courts and suspicions are that they fled in the direction of the Princess Informal Settlement.

Police have not yet responded to several attempts to confirm the incident but more will be shared on this developing story as it is forthcoming.
