Collision causes truck to overturn
A truck colliding with a trailer and overturning causes traffic jam.
An overturned truck caused a large back-up in traffic on the late afternoon and evening of Sunday 1 September.
According to ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson, a truck collided with a trailer attached to an SUV on the N1 South. The collision caused the truck to overturn.
“ER24 paramedics on scene did not transport any patients, but another private emergency service transported two patients with minor injuries to nearby medical facilities for further care.
“Following the collision the trailer’s contents was scattered across the highway.
“There was also an oil spillage on scene. Three lanes had to be closed, which resulted in traffic backing up all the way to Maraisburg until late on Sunday.”
Jackson says that the cause of the accident and preceding events will be subject to a police investigation.
