Residents are warned about water interruption

HONEYDEW – Johannesburg plans a two-day water interruption.

The city’s water and sanitation service provider would like to inform residents about planned water interruptions that will affect residents that get their water from the Honeydew Tower and reservoir zones from 9am on 17 March till 3 pm on 18 March. Randwater will be doing a tie-in at the reservoir inlet during this time.

Please note, the water supply interruption is expected to last 30 hours. Suburbs fed by the tower zone will have no water supply during the duration of the shutdown. We estimate that suburbs supplied by the reservoir will have enough water from around 6pm on 17 March until the end of the shutdown period.

Suburbs that will be affected:

Tower Zone

  • Honeydew
  • Zandspruit Informal Settlement
  • Honeydew West
  • Parts of North Riding

Reservoir Zone:

Northgate, North Riding, Bloubosrand, Kya Sands, Mogale City, Nooitgedacht, Cosmo City (all extensions), Lanseria, Itsoseng Informal Settlement, Malibongwe Ridge, Malatjie Informal Settlement, Olivedale Clinic, Cosmo City Industrial Park, Noordhang, Jackal Creek, Northlands Business and Dècor Park.

Water tankers will placed at the following locations:

  • Honeydew West Road and Boundary Road
  • Honeydew Police Station
  • Jackal Creek Estate
  • The Dome at Northgate
  • Corner Aureole and Valley Roads
  • Northlands Dècor Park
  • Corner Uitval and Agnes Roads
  • Zandspruit Informal Settlement
  • Itsotseng Informal Settlement
  • Malatjie Informal Settlement

Johannesburg Water will also have roaming tankers in the area and would also like to apologise for the inconvenience caused during the interruption.
