Heavy rainfall and a drop in temperatures predicted

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected

Residents are advised to get their raincoats and umbrellas out of storage and brace themselves for some cold and wet weather.

According to the South African Weather Service, Gauteng can expect severe storms with heavy rainfall (more than 90 millimetres in some areas) on Tuesday (5 December) and Wednesday (6 December).

Temperatures will also drop significantly:

• Tuesday: 13°–22° (83 per cent chance of rain)
• Wednesday: 10°–22° (60 per cent chance of rain)
• Thursday: 11°–21° (39 per cent chance of rain)
• Friday: 14°–23° (36 per cent chance of rain)
