#HelpFindLee: Update: Case postponed once again
Accused will apply for bail on 24 April
The accused in the case of the missing three-year-old Liyaqat ‘Lee’ Mentoor, will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
He was arrested on a charge of child neglect, after Lee went missing from his care on 16 March. He appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 11 April to apply for bail, but the case was postponed to 24 April for a formal bail application hearing. The reason for the postponement was because the docket and other supporting documents were outstanding.
The family members were very emotional, and quite disappointed at today’s outcome. “We are disappointed that we will have to wait another two weeks before we might be able to get some answers, but believe the process will run as it is supposed to. But, we will not stop demanding answers, as we want Lee back, regardless,” said Estelle Delport, the family representative.
