The son, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that she was on her usual morning walk with a friend when she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection opposite Horizon View Shopping Centre. “She was hit on her right leg, but the people who were in the car stopped immediately to help her,” he said.
They assisted the woman as much as they could until emergency services arrived, following which she was transported to Flora Clinic for further assessment. “They took some x-rays and did the usual check-ups, and thankfully her leg was just bruised and not fractured,” said the son.
As it turns out, the occupants of the vehicle were on their way to Flora Clinic themselves, and once they had carried out their business there, they went to check on the woman to see how she was doing. Thankfully she was doing well, and is now back home, on her path to recovery.
