Man dies after being knocked over in Honeydew

“Paramedics assessed the patient and found that he had sustained a fatal head injury,” said Meiring.

 

A 27-year-old man was fatally injured this morning, Monday, 6 May, when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on Johan Road in Honeydew.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 6.30am to find the body of the man lying on the pavement. The vehicle that had struck him was found on the opposite side of the road.

“Paramedics assessed the patient and found that he had sustained a fatal head injury,” said Meiring, adding that nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

“The driver of the vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury. The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” he explained.
