The Class of 2019’s results are in!

Grade 12s received their results with smiles and some frowns.

Wednesday, 8 January was a day of celebration for the majority of the Class of 2019 when they received their results after 12 years of hard work.

Learners flocked to their various Alma Maters where most received their results with smiles of happiness and excitement, bringing tears of joy to their parents’ eyes.

According to the Gauteng Department of Education, the overall pass rate for the Class of 2019 was 81,3 per cent, an improvement of 3,1 per cent and also the highest pass rate recorded in 25 years.

The pass rate for Gauteng was 87,2 per cent, slightly lower than 2018’s 87,9 per cent. The schools in Roodepoort achieved the following pass rates:
• Hoërskool Florida – 98,7 per cent
• Hoërskool Roodepoort – 94 per cent
• Hoërskool Bastion – 97,58 per cent
• Hoërskool Die Burger – 80,9 per cent
• Florida Park High School– 94,2 per cent
• West Ridge High School – 81,7 per cent
• Princess High School– 64,2 per cent
• Hoërskool Die Adelaar – 94 per cent
• Lantern School – 88,4 per cent
• Tulip High School – 100 per cent
• Victory House – 95,7 per cent
