Roodepoort Police Station fully operational after decontamination
The station was closed on Friday, 17 July, after a member tested positive for Covid-19.

The Roodepoort Police spokesperson, Captain Juanita Yorke, confirmed yesterday, 19 July, that the police station is now fully operational after being decontaminated.
The station was closed on Friday, 17 July, after a member tested positive for Covid-19.
Yorke said, “The community can now access the Police Station Community Service Centre, and the station is fully operational. Police management thanks the community for their cooperation.”
Yorke added that the community should have the following with them when visiting the station, in an attempt to help curb the spread of the virus:
- Have your own black pen
- All original documents, as well as copies to be certified. No photocopies can be made at the station.
She concluded by saying, “We urge the community to visit the Police station in the area they reside in, if possible. Community members should also only visit the station if the matter is extremely urgent, if it is something that can wait, community members should rather visit at a later stage.”
