A global pandemic could not stop the creative and talented Caitlin and Olivia Hood from competing in the Talent Africa Nationals 2020.

Both girls are learners at Welridge Academy and they received their Gauteng Provincial Federation colours in Performing Arts.

Olivia received silver in acro solo in the age group six to eight, while Caitlin received gold in small modern/ open in the age group 9/11, and silver in ballet/ pointe in the age group 9/11.

The Talent Africa National Championships was scheduled to be held at the Roodepoort Theatre from 21 to 28 March but unfortunately was postponed because of the global pandemic.

Event organisers were forced to change the physical aspects of performing in front of an audience and the judges, and opt for online video submissions.

Talent Africa Nationals is the second round, where all provinces compete for a place on the South African team, which travels to New York City to compete in the America’s Got Talent competition every year.

Talent Africa congratulated all the performers who have truly given hours of hard work and enjoyment.

Performers can get their 2020 results on www.talentafrica.co.za. On the home page, click results and enter the contestant number. Contestants will also be able to download their participation certificate.
