Child Welfare is in desperate need of help
CWSA Roodepoort said they were finding it near impossible to raise funds and it was becoming more and more difficult to support children and foster families without assistance.
The coronavirus pandemic and national lockdown have taken their toll in many ways, not only in terms of the loss of lives, but the loss of income, houses, and jobs.
Taking a huge amount of strain are the non-profit organisations (NPOs). NPOs rely solely on donations and fundraising efforts; however, social distancing and lockdown regulations have meant that fundraising initiatives are nearly impossible, and the loss of jobs and other financial issues people are facing have meant that donations are also at an all-time low. It is for these reasons that Child Welfare South Africa (CWSA) Roodepoort is finding it more and more difficult to work.

“We are pleading for help at this stage,” said Este le Roux, Head of Marketing for the organisation.
CWSA Roodepoort said they were finding it near impossible to raise funds and it was becoming more and more difficult to support children and foster families without assistance.
The non-profit organisation covers more than 25 areas, assisting children who are victims of neglect, abuse and abandonment, so they have an extremely important job. The organisation is asking for any help the community can give, either in the form of monetary donations or food parcels.
The food will go to foster families being supported by the organisation, as well as to women and children who come into the offices seeking help. The organisation is also in desperate need of paper for their printer in order to complete reports needed for court cases. If you are able to donate food or paper, Este is available to collect.

Arrangements can be made by phoning her on 073 260 4003.
