Due to the limitations created by the coronavirus pandemic, competitors submitted recorded performances for the judges’ consideration. Classical music enthusiast, Christine, performed Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Pie Jesu while Storm belted out her rendition of Never Enough by the cast of The Greatest Showman.

Angelic voices are not the only gifts that the pair are blessed with as they both play a multitude of instruments. Christine, a Krugersdorp High School learner, is proficient in no less that five instruments including violin, ukulele, recorder, piano and trumpet. Younger sibling, Storm, is not far behind and is sure to add to her repertoire of guitar, piano and recorder when she progresses from Monument Primary School.

Waiting hand and foot on his beloved daughters is their overjoyed father, Sean Venter.

“I’m just so proud of them. They have done more than I ever could at their age.”

His humble nature has been imparted on the young girls as both have a deeper appreciation for their art. “I love the response you get after a performance and the chance to inspire others,” said 17-year-old Christine, who looks forward to being able to teach music once she finishes school.

Twelve-year-old Storm is aiming for the National School of Arts and has important auditions lined up for the coming weeks. When asked what drives her, the unassuming young lady states, “I just like making people happy with my music”.

As a pair or individually, both are sure to harness their powers of melodic majesty.
