Fruitful entrepreneur’s workshop on thriving
"Keep looking at your plan of action; if there’s a problem in the business, find out what the root cause is and weed it out."
‘Survive and thrive’ was the subject of the most recently held Entrepreneurs Workshop hosted by award-winning business woman, Margaret Hirsch and Global Award-winner with ActionCOACH, Marlene Powell.
Speakers were Keru Kristen, award-winning writer and CEO of Orkid Productions, and Michael Howard, IBM’s Director of Internal Audit and Investigations, North and Latin America.
Keru pointed out the importance of investing in oneself and changing one’s mindset to fit the circumstances.
“Change your mindset towards the situation, roll with the punches and move forward.
“Let other people see the value in you. Constantly educate yourself to evolve – and adapt your business to a position where it can thrive in these circumstances,” said Keru.
Michael revealed at the workshop that it is vital for business owners not only to write down goals, but make sure they act on them.
“Keep looking at your plan of action; if there’s a problem in the business, find out what the root cause is and weed it out.
“If you’re wrong then you need to change your approach, and if you want to move forward then now is the time to take a risk,” said Michael.
Marlene said this was a good time for business owners to make use of the springboard effect.
“It’s not the time to sit back and wait for things to happen. One needs to pick up the phone, find out how everyone is doing – it’s time to take a step forward,” said Marlene.
Margaret concluded by saying that it’s vitally important to take control of your mind to make sure you move forward in the direction of your dreams.
The next Hirsch’s Entrepreneurs Workshop is entitled ‘Work smart’ and will feature guest speakers such as Nolitha Nkosi Tshabalala, CEO and founder of Nolitha TS, and Nic Nortje who is an Aldes Prestige Business Broker.
