Help Child Welfare feed the hungry

The organisation is asking for non-perishable foods predominantly, but bread and spreads are also welcome because they are used to feed the children who are at the branch that day, either waiting for court or to open new cases.

The Roodepoort branch of Child Welfare South Africa (CWSA) needs the community’s help with donations of non-perishable foods.

The non-profit organisation (NPO) covers more than 25 areas, assisting children who are victims of neglect, abuse, and abandonment. While any and all donations are always welcome at the NPO, the organisation is urging the community to come forward with food donations for foster families and desperate community members seeking help from Child Welfare.

CWSA Roodepoort has always helped foster families who look after and adopt orphaned children with food parcels, but the dire financial constraints brought on by this year’s struggles have left the organisation more desperate than ever for donations. Apart from foster families, the organisation has been getting a lot of hungry walk-ins looking for food. The organisation also feeds approximately 30 people every two weeks and needs help to continue doing this good work.

Arrangements can be made to collect any donations, and the organisation’s Marketing Manager, Estie le Roux can be contacted to organise this. Estie can be reached on 073 260 4003 and any donations (food, toiletries, stationery, or financial are welcome).

To find out more about the organisation and what they do, you can contact Estie or visit the Child Welfare South Africa Roodepoort website to see their wish list or find out more about how to donate.
