Honeydew Police appeal for patience at CSC

When complainants are met with inevitable delays, Muthan explained that at times they are understaffed because of officers being booked off.

With Covid-19 lockdown regulations imposing social distancing and limiting the number of attendees at a venue, Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan has pleaded with the public to be patient when they visit the station.

“Just as you are patient when going to a bank, you need to be patient with us too because we are also adhering to the Covid-19 regulations,” Muthan appealed.

He said the station, which has a small Community Service Centre (CSC) is not allowed to have more than three officers helping out at the Centre due to the restrictions – this means that the officers on duty can help only three complainants at a time, while the rest have to wait outside, also adhering to the protocol of maintaining social distancing.

When complainants are met with inevitable delays, Muthan explained that at times they are understaffed because of officers being booked off.

“The members of the public also need to realise that officers get sick, and with Covid, some had to be quarantined – a situation that leaves us understaffed,” he share the reason.

However, he assured the public that they are still dedicated to helping them and fighting crime in the area.
