Goodwill pouring in for children struggling with cancer

Cupcakes of Hope is an organisation that focuses on brightening up the lives of children diagnosed with cancer.

The fight against cancer is not reserved for just one month of the year. The deadly disease does not take a break so efforts to support those in need and those who provide the support should not either.

Cupcakes of Hope is an organisation that focuses on brightening up the lives of children diagnosed with cancer. Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and HM4Honey threw their resources together to add their bit to the cause by donating a special surprise pack for the children.

“Today we teamed up with some fantastic people to bring a little joy to the children living with cancer. Cupcakes of Hope received some wonderful care bags donated by HM4Honey and CANSA Roodepoort Care Clinic,” said Hennie Matthews. The packs cater for children between the ages of six and 16, and contain items such as stationery, puzzles, colouring-in goods, clothes and various personal items.

CANSA and HM4Honey were assisted by two organisations that always have charity central to their actions. “This couldn’t have been done without the loving and dedicated help from the Lions Club and Hervormde Kerk Kempton from Kempton Park who donated the items,” praised Hennie. Additionally, the HM4Honey team registered for BakeADifference and raised over R5 000 with the support from CupcakesforKids, CANSA and the community.

The goodwill does not end there, as the final push to Christmas is under way. “We are appealing to the public to support us to put together Christmas packs for our children living with cancer. They are true warriors, and spreading a message of hope goes a long way to motivate them on their journey,” encouraged Hennie.
