The end of October saw the members of Panorama Residents Association (PRA) and EC Security take up the challenge to repair potholes within their area and make the roads safer for motorists.
The scorching sun on the day did not stop the determined residents from finishing their task of repairing potholes in Rooisering Street, and Brakdoring and Tenpins Avenues.
According to PRA, the potholes were reported in August already and multiple escalations were later logged, but still they were not attended to.
This forced the community of Weltevreden Park together with PRA and EC Security to use their own resources and ensure that they make their roads safer.
A total of 875kg of asphalt/ tar was used to fill the hazardous road defects on the day as everyone pulled together for an impressive end result.

“Since January we have been reporting potholes on various roads in our area, but we got no success from Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) and other entities; for that matter we are getting no service delivery.
“We then decided with help from EC Security to embark on a project to fix all the potholes on our busy routes,” said PRA Chairman, Dave Baxter.
The residents filled approximately 80 potholes, with some of them so big that they required close to 75kg of tar to be filled.
According to Dave, the PRA used the funds from their annual membership fees to fix the roads and prevent further damage to cars.
