The fight against drugs is an interconnected one as manufactures, dealers and addicts come from all corners.

In response to October being declared Social Development Month, Westview Clinic launched their mobile treatment clinics in the mining hub of Carletonville, 22 October. The MEC stressed the need for providing quality services to people in rural and inaccessible area affected by substance abuse. The Vaal area and the Johannesburg Central region were also allocated mobile clinics, and the three satellite sites will allow Westview Clinic to oversee the rendering of substance abuse related services in the respective regions.

“The scourge of substance abuse is ravaging our communities and these mobile treatment clinics will go a long way in providing access to services for all,” stated Westview Clinic In-Patient Manager, Anthea Barriel.

Substance abuse is not endemic to the suburbs of Roodepoort, but a far-reaching one that can now be tackled remotely by those who do it best.
