Ready, set, Black Friday!

The specials in store will not only be on groceries, but also their general merchandise including appliances.

Pick n Pay Witpoortjie is just one of the many stores that have lowered their prices in preparation of the chaotic day that is Black Friday. The store has put several measures in place to make sure that their customers remain safe from any Covid-19 threats.

Co-owners of the store, Stephen Temkin and Luigi Cocomello, said that Black Friday is usually an extremely busy day for the store, so instead of only running their specials for one day, they have spread them out over a few days in hopes of minimising congestion.

“We have put measures in place to make sure that every customer is sanitized, and will also be letting customers in in groups, similar to the beginning of lockdown, to make sure that the store does not exceed capacity,” said Steve.

Luigi added that the store has stocked up to the nines to make sure there is enough supply to meet the demand. Even though groceries were classified as essential items and their providers could continue operations during lockdown, the financial effects of the lockdown on their customers affected the store as well because there were fewer sales.

The specials in store will not only be on groceries, but also their general merchandise including appliances. Pick n Pay Witpoortjie will also have several specials specific to their branch over and above the company-wide specials for Black Friday.
