CLO awaits résumés of unemployed youth from Honeydew

According to Mangena, the new centre not only brings convenient shopping to the locals, but also job opportunities in the retail sector.

With the Jackal Creek Corner Retail Centre on the brink of completion, the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) of the project, David Mangena has called on unemployed youth from Wards 114 and 100 to submit their curricula vitae (CVs) at his office.

This multi-million rand shopping centre situated on the corner of Aureole and Boundary Roads in Honeydew is the brainchild of Abland, one of South Africa’s leading property developers for over 30 years.

According to Mangena, the new centre not only brings convenient shopping to the locals, but also job opportunities in the retail sector.
“I’ve received over 600 CVs already from both Honeydew and Cosmo City residents, which shows the lack of employment in the area, but we are encouraging more people with or without skills to bring their CVs to 74 Marina Road in Zandspruit at Kealeboga Crèche opposite the clinic,” he advised.

Since the development is taking place in Ward 114, Mangena said residents of the ward will be considered for 70 per cent of the available employment.

Mangena concluded by indicating that the centre might begin operating before the end of February.
