Pathways Annual Charity Golf Day to be held in March
'Work, play and give' is this year’s slogan that will hopefully boost the kindness and generosity amongst the participants.
Pathways Roodepoort will host their Annual Charity Golf Day on 25 March at Eagle Canyon Golf Estate where sponsors and community members will tee off in the name of generosity.
‘Work, play and give’ is this year’s slogan that will hopefully boost the kindness and generosity amongst the participants.
The main objective of the event is to raise the much-needed funds for the centre, as they rely solely on funding and donations to operate.
Registration on the day will begin at 7.30am and the shotgun start will be at 9m, with a grouping of R4 000 (4 ball), R6 000 (hole sponsorship + 4 ball) and R1 200 (individual player) with carts and dinner included.
The 2020 Annual Charity Golf Day was cancelled as a result of Covid-19 and organisers are hoping for a successful event that resembles the one in 2019 where some interesting collectors’ items, which included signed Sharks and Lions rugby jerseys, were auctioned off and sold to the highest bidders.
Thank you gifts were prepared for the sponsors of the event, and Pathways received a donation of R5 000 from African Bank.
Pathways Roodepoort is a stimulation centre for children with severe mental and physical disabilities and is a registered non-profit organisation (034-468 NPO).
“We are in dire need of assistance with our running expenses as not all the children’s parents can afford school fees. We do not preclude children entry to Pathways Roodepoort on the basis of whether or not they can afford to pay,” said Vicki Kruger from Pathways Roodepoort.
Pathways Roodepoort was officially opened in February 2005 and is currently renting a house from which they operate.
They cater for children suffering from a variety of serious conditions such as severe brain damage (cerebral palsy), chromosome disorders, development delay, autism and self-injurious behaviour.
