Another nutritious meal for the children of Matholesville
The team has already had some assistance from Spar Strubens Valley that donated two boxes of sanitary pads. They appeal to the public and local business to assist with the much-needed items.
Engaging in positive experiences with their communities often allow individuals to feel more connected to their environment and the people in it.
Taking care of the youth and the most vulnerable strengthens the connection that comes with being an active community member and a support system for those who require encouragement or help.

On Sunday, 7 March Eyadini Food Caravan in Matholesville was once again transformed into a children-feeding outlet organised by a group of friends who reside on the West Rand.
According to the team, they decided after a successful first cooking attempt to do something positive for the community every first week of the month, and make a small difference to those in need.
Funds were generated among the team who used their money and abilities in the spirit of generosity to ensure that a meal of chicken stew, veggies and samp is prepared.

While observing the Covid-19 protocols, a long queue of children meandered through the streets of Matholesville like a hungry serpent waiting for their warm meal that was being prepared by the team.
“As we continue to foster good deeds in our community, we also strive to help the youth throughout Matholesville to become more aware of local issues, realise their individual capacity, and inspire them to take personal action to make a positive change,” said one of the organisers, Monwabisi Jamangile.
The team revealed to the Record that they will be doing something similar again in the first week of April, hoping to tackle the issue of young girls not being able to attend school due to being on their periods.
“In our country many girls are missing large swaths of school time. This is sad because these children often don’t have access to sanitary pads. We want to make a difference in this regard and hand out free pads to young school girls,” said another organiser, Lizalise Tyali.

Members of the public who are interested in helping to keep this good initiative going are advised to contact one of the administration members on 071 384 6308.
