Murder in Paris, airing again on SABC 3 at 7.30pm on 28 March, is a two-part documentary on the life of Dulcie who many may not have known if it wasn’t for Samuel’s resilience and passion to dig into her brutal slaying in Paris on 29 March 1988, a day now hugely commemorated in Paris.
This unsung heroine residing in Paris worked in the ANC office as a party representative. She was assassinated outside the building at the age of 52. She was the highest-ranking ANC member to be assassinated outside of Africa.
The first episode on 21 March not only painted a picture of who Duclie was, but went deep into her murder to provoke the reopening of her murder case.
With part two on the way, Samuel said what he expected to happen after the documentary. “I’ve partnered with two producers to do an impact campaign for this documentary. The aim of this impact campaign will be to make the public aware as to who Dulcie September was, what she did and stood for, and most importantly see if we can get the case reopened for the family of whom many are originally from Cape Town, with a few scattered across the world, including the Australia, Switzerland and England,” he concluded.
