The King’s School West Rand’s pad drive committee has been running their initiative in the high school phase for the past two weeks and managed to exceed their goal.
The goal was for the school to pull together and collect 5 000 pads; however the high school exceeded this by collecting 9 572 pads for girls in need.
“A big thank you to Wild Eagle Spur Steak Ranch Ruimsig for their contribution of burgers and chips to the two top classes that collected the most pads.
“Grade 11NB collected 1 500 pads, and Grade 9PD collected 1 200 pads,” said the school’s Head of Marketing, Michelle Dos Ramos.
According to Michelle, all the pads will be donated to HADASSA Ministries who will then distribute them to the communities in need.
