Clover Mama Afrika receives a gift of warmth

With winter nearing and the days getting colder it is heart-warming to see companies doing their part and assisting individuals with the gift of warmth whenever they can.

On Wednesday, 26 May, Clover Mama Afrika once again received the gift of warmth from their long-term project partner, Aranda Textiles, based in Randfontein.

The donation makes an incredible difference to people who do not have warm blankets or clothes ready for the colder months.

“It is always the best time when we pack the Aranda blankets for distribution to our Clover Mama Afrikas countrywide.

“This year, we added the beautifully knitted beanies as well as winter clothing donated by our own Clover Call Centre staff.

“We would like to thank our special friends for this wonderful winter drive,” said Professor Elain Vlok, Clover Manager, Clover Mama Afrika Trust.

Clover Mama Afrika, Clover’s corporate sustainability initiative is a community-led approach aimed at reducing poverty in neighbourhoods by empowering women and those around them to empower the generation that comes after them.

With the project running successfully since 2004, and hosting 431 training sessions with over 2 271 beneficiaries over the years, the benefits of upskilling can be clearly seen.

The concept of Clover Mama Afrika is simple: they empower community caregivers with viable skills, which they, in turn, pass on to others in order to become sustainable.
