Beacons of community togetherness, schools are the bedrock anchoring the youth.
The King’s School Discovery hosted their first-ever market on May 22, realising an ambition set out since the school’s inception. The market allowed students, parents and community members the opportunity to erect their stalls on the school’s field, treating taste buds to a delicious array available at food stalls, and entertaining with a collection of interesting novelty items.
The market doubled as an invitation to all to enjoy the facilities offered at the school, amplified by the hospitality of respectful students and friendly staff alike. Along with the market, the newly renovated reception was proudly showed off by Principal, André Berrangé. “This has been a dream of ours since the first week we opened,” said Principal Berrangé.
The walls of the new reception are adorned with words close the principal and his staff’s hearts. “Dear Children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth,” reads the passage from the First Book of John, chapter three verse 18. “For us, this is how we approach everything at the school. Everything we do is set to lead by example,” the principal said.
Visitors received a fun-filled gift pack, which included a complimentary pen, a chap stick to keep the lips smooth, and a nostalgia inducing yo-yo, taking parents back their own youthful days on the playground.
