Four thugs carried out an armed robbery at a liquor store on Albertina Sisulu Road near the Roodepoort CBD, July 28.
At roughly midday, one of them entered the store and demanded that the store’s cash be handed over. The employee responded that there was no cash on the premises and was subsequently threatened with violence. Three others then entered the store and began to search the offices where they would find the store’s safe.
After taking all the cash they could, they ransacked the tills before fleeing with a large yet undisclosed amount of money. Roodepoort Police spokesperson, Captain Juanita Yorke, confirmed that a case of business robbery has been opened and that the suspects are still at large.
