Crawford International Ruimsig unveil IB authorisation

“We are leaders in Southern Africa and the only school on the West Rand to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme."

On Friday, July 30 Crawford International Ruimsig Preparatory School held an event at the school to unveil their International Baccalaureate (IB) authorisation, which makes them a first on the West Rand.

The Executive Head of the campus, Willem van Zyl was thrilled to announce that Crawford International Ruimsig Preparatory School has been officially endorsed and authorised as an International Baccalaureate World School.

To be able to offer the exclusive International Baccalaureate programmes, the school had to become an authorised International Baccalaureate World School, delivering one or all of the International Baccalaureate programmes.

This preparation and process take a minimum of 18 months to complete and is followed up every four years with further formal evaluation visits by international, independent International Baccalaureate teams from across the world.

On approval from the International Baccalaureate Head Offices in The Hague, Netherlands the school may then include the International Baccalaureate World School Logo throughout the school.

“We are leaders in Southern Africa and the only school on the West Rand to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

“This enables our students to become internationally minded citizens; our students practise voice, choice and take ownership of their own learning.

“Our philosophy is to develop future change makers – influencing local, national and global perspectives.

“I would like to congratulate our Leadership Team, IB PYP coordinator and staff members, and extend our most sincere gratitude to our parents and students, for walking this journey with us as we all discovered a new way of providing and receiving a unique education that will change the world of tomorrow,” said Van Zyl.
