Property finance company bring relief to FCS unit in Roodepoort CBD
SA Home Loans donate 125 handbags filled with sanitary items
In a time of trauma, the suffering is eased with every comfort afforded to victims.
The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is the refuge for victims of crimes committed by those closest to them. Whether serious domestic violence cases, incidents affecting minors, or victims of sexual assault, the FCS aims to offer comfort while police process the criminal matters. The FCS Unit based in the Roodepoort CBD was the grateful recipient of a mass donation on August 20.

Property financiers, SA Home Loans have extended their gracious arms, handing over 125 care packs to the FCS as part of a drive to alleviate any strain that may be on the family-related unit. The care packs came in the form of handbags stuffed with toiletries, lotions and miscellaneous hygiene and sanitation products all donated by SA Home Loans staff and affiliates.
A total of 500 handbags have been donated across Gauteng, with four donations happening in various sectors of the province. Due to limitations created by the ongoing health crisis, the mortgage specialists combined their Mandela and Women’s Day projects with outstanding results. “We identified this unit for the great work it does; we are championing this initiative and will continue to drive their message,” said SA Home Loans Inland Sales Distribution Manager, Sashi Singh.

Commander of the FCS, Lieutenant Colonel Temeki Sekgala, was overjoyed with the donation. “It is important to improve relationships with the community and look after the interests of the victims of especially gender-based violence and sexual offences. Thank you to SA Home Loans, this will make a great difference to our survivors. In the time they are with us, they will know they are being taken care of,” said the FCS commander.
