Driver crashes into wall on Golf Club Terrace

The roof and windscreen on the car were caved in and it was impossible to make out what model the car was.

Residents in Constantia Kloof were left shaken on August 24 when a motorist crashed into a boundary wall. According to an eyewitness, the driver was travelling along Golf Club Terrace when he lost control of his bakkie, veered off the road and crashed into the resident’s wall.

Lying on the pavement barely conscious the patient received assistance from a paramedic while waiting for the ambulance. A few metres away, his severely damaged bakkie was resting against a tree, and bricks and cement lay scattered everywhere. Curious passers-by rubbernecked to figure out what had caused the accident and to get a glimpse of the victim.

Once the ambulance arrived, the medic on scene urged the injured driver to stay awake and keep his eyes open. The patient whispered that his leg was painful as he was being loaded into the ambulance. The extent of his injuries were not shared by the paramedic.
