Zandspruit fire near clinic extinguished before spreading
Crowd got a bit unruly when EMS arrived claiming that the fire engine took long to arrive.

On Wednesday, September 1 the Northsider received reports of unrest in Zandspruit Informal Settlement and upon further investigations it was established that there were shacks on fire near the Zandspruit Clinic.
It was reported that the crowd got a bit unruly when the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) arrived claiming that the fire engine took long to arrive on the scene.

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) and several emergency services arrived on scene and managed to disperse the angry crowd inforce order.
City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) Spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi confirmed to the Northsider that there was a fire in Zandspruit that destroyed three shacks.

“We received a call of multiple shacks on fire in Zandspruit around noon, we have two Fire Engines on scene at this stage no injuries have been reported, the cause of the fire is still a subject of investigations,” said Mulaudzi.
