Ruimsig beauty a Miss Regal International SA finalists
She plans to make a difference in her community by continuing her mission of building a well-educated generation where young girls and boys do not have to worry about existential threats to their communities, families and lives in the same way her generation had to.
Outer beauty is just one aspect of the judging process of a pageant as the views and opinions that the contestants show to the world are especially important.
Miss Regal International South Africa finalist, Nozipho Mashaba from Ruimsig revealed to the Northsider that winning a pageant or sometimes simply participating in a contest can change one’s life.
Nozipho is an influencer, child-protection advocate, youth-development activist and philanthropist who is very passionate about education, helping people and changing the world one day at a time.
“I am a well-rounded girl in society who is very involved in her community and wants what’s best for everyone,” said Nozipho.
She developed a love of modelling from a young age and has always loved beauty pageants, but when she reached adolescence her body started changing and she gained weight.
In the eyes of society she did not qualify to participate in beauty pageants, and she realised how many other young girls were going through what she went through.
“At such a young age you are made to hate yourself, to hate your body and to see yourself as undeserving and not beautiful.

“I decided to break barriers and have my own voice that would encourage other young girls like me to do the same.
“I started mentoring young girls to grow their self-esteem, do beauty pageants, public speaking and debate, and stand their ground from a young age,” said Nozipho.
When Nozipho saw Miss Regal International SA, read more about it and understood what kind of brand it is, she immediately knew that was it.
“Everything about Miss Regal International SA screamed my name – from intelligence, self-love and care for others, to realising your own aspirations. l decided this was the time for me to tell my story,” said Nozipho.
If Nozipho wins the pageant, she said her priorities will be to continue and build on the beautiful and powerful legacy left by the former Miss Regal International South Africa.
She plans to make a difference in her community by continuing her mission of building a well-educated generation where young girls and boys do not have to worry about existential threats to their communities, families and lives in the same way her generation had to.
Nozipho is currently looking for brands to partner with on her journey as the pageant is working with People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA), which is an organisation that provides survivors/ victims of domestic violence with shelter. They solely depend on donations to run the shelters.
Miss Regal International South Africa searches for exceptional ambassadors to represent South Africa on a global stage.
More than just beauty, the pageant advocates women empowerment and social change, and celebrates the talent and regality of the modern woman.
