Market and auction to assist community traders

Acting as the glue to hold entrepreneurs together, Ananzi Buy and Sell hosted a market and auction day, September 25.

Economic progress is not just financial, but the investment in shared possibilities.

Acting as the glue to hold entrepreneurs together, Ananzi Buy and Sell hosted a market and auction day, September 25. The Bergbron Padstal provided the rustic setting for sellers of wares of all kinds to network, trade and barter their way to prosperity. The market ran all day but the auction would be a quick trading bonanza with Ananzi Buy and Sell’s Kobus Erasmus slamming the gavel.

The auction allows those present to determine the value of the item on sale, possibly uncovering any hidden sentimental or niche worth it may possess. “We started during lockdown as a way to give the community a platform to sell goods. This way they don’t have to go through a middle man,” said Kobus, sighting the need to rebuild community confidence caused by the continued health crisis. “If we develop a close connection with traders and community we can build one another up together.”
