Stars, snacks and something special

Shared laughter between families, friends, children and lovers soon filled the air with a rare kind of serenity.

On the evening of Saturday, November 6, nature lovers were whisked away to a whimsical place of cosmic wonders when they enjoyed a Picnic under the Stars at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden.

A tranquil ambience was set with some beautiful lights, dreamy music and of course the unmatched beauty of the night sky. Shared laughter between families, friends, children and lovers soon filled the air with a rare kind of serenity.

According to event organiser, Michele van Zyl community members were invited to bring their blankets and picnic baskets to enjoy an exciting evening in a fun, safe and interactive environment.

There was a special night market offering some famous home-grown crafts, tempting food stalls and unique drinks. Even though the storm-like clouds threatened to bring the evening to a halt they soon passed, leaving behind but a few drops of light rain.

As luck would have it, load-shedding was implemented early in the evening, but it didn’t keep the guests from enjoying their time together – after all, the stars shine so much brighter in the dark.

Michele and her team from Event Ladies SA would like to thank everyone who was involved in making the event a huge success, as well as the community members who chose to spend their Saturday night at the Botanical Garden.

“We trust that each person in attendance enjoyed the evening and we hope to see them again soon. These events are all about family and friends unwinding and spending time together, and we are so happy when we can make that happen,” she concluded.
