Radiokop resident passionate about sport and healthy living
Marna is a proud owner of a Comrades marathon green number and has four half Ironman triathlons under her belt.
Many women see turning 50 years as an ending, but Radiokop resident Marna Grobler believes that the half-century mark is the time when women can reinvent themselves and pursue their passion with full energy, time and talent.
Marna is a qualified primary school teacher, business owner and a health and wellness coach who describes herself as an optimist whose passion lies with helping women who feel overwhelmed as they grow older.
The former Panorama Primary School and Constantia Kloof Primary School teacher was born in the Free State and learnt from a very young age to fend for herself.
“This made me strong, resilient and a go-getter; this also made me self-aware, compassionate and gave me the ability to connect with people and their emotions.
“I am passionate about sport and healthy living – not to say I don’t enjoy a good glass of wine with my girlfriends,” said Marna.
On Saturday, November 6 Marna held a launch of the 50andMe lifestyle concept website at Pillow Talk in Illovo with about 50 ladies joining for a ‘Sip and Shop’ afternoon.

This website was created after Marna turned 50 as she felt there was a need for a platform where women can connect, interact, and find everything they might need to help them grow older feeling fabulous.
“I could not find a central place to interact with other women my age, find products, or relevant articles.
“I felt there was a need for a platform where women can connect, interact, and find everything they might need to help them grow older feeling good.
“Here they will find articles on wellness, menopause, beauty, recipes, adventures, and of course shopping and wine.
“Hopefully this platform will create a space where women can pursue their passions and know that they don’t have to fit into the mould of others’ opinion, or the fluctuating standards of society,” said Marna.
Marna is a proud owner of a Comrades marathon green number and has four half Ironman triathlons under her belt.
In 2003, due to health issues, Marna’s partner was advised to start exercising and while on a beach holiday she decided to join in and soon realised that walking as a form of exercise was not for her.

Marna started running on the beach and loved it. This, combined with watching the Comrades marathon on television on that particular holiday caused her to make the bold decision to run her first Comrades marathon the following year.
“I am not looking to be a pro athlete. I am passionate about what I do, I love to test my limits and I am proud of what I achieve.

“I feel very blessed to be where I am and keep striving to be the best version of myself, and hopefully inspire other women to do the same, no matter age or circumstances,” said Marna.
