Diamonds in the Dusk wants entrepreneurs to shine

The day kicked off with an exciting 2km walkathon to encourage women to take care themselves.

On Sunday, November 7 Diamonds in the Dusk (DITD) hosted their first-ever auction at Dorcas Aid in support of hard-working entrepreneurs.

DITD is an NPC dedicated to uplifting and empowering women, men and children – encouraging them to be mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially self-sufficient. Their mission is to create job opportunities and to open a shelter for the abused in the future.

“The walk was to remind these women that a healthy mind breeds a healthy body and visa versa. Our aim was to celebrate women – they need to know that above all else their health should remain a priority. We even gave away a prize to the lady who arrived back at Dorcas Aid first,” DITD founder, entrepreneur and authority life coach, Ayesha Hassen said.

The auction was held to give exposure to the unique products of local entrepreneurs. Items including a large candle, toilet set, jewellery box, hair product set and a beautiful picture frame were successfully auctioned off to the audience of 17 guests.

“DITD fully support these entrepreneurs – their abilities, capabilities and their persistency to generate an income and be self-reliant. We are going to use the funds raised for future events which will continue to focus on entrepreneurs and their products,” she said.

With this Ayesha would like to thank Dorcas Aid, Chicken Express, SGV Digital, Nuraan’s Koeksisters as well as all entrepreneurs who showcased their lovely products on the day.

“When we rise in the morning our first thoughts should be on our Creator, just like the sunflowers, and never divert like the setting of the sun. Another interesting fact about the sunflower is its uniformity. A field of sunflowers is amazing to see. Every single flower is parallel to the others around it. Because of a central focus, sunflowers stay unified in purpose and position. And that is how we should live,” she concluded.
