Residents respond swiftly to a threatening fire

“When our residents call for help we are there as quick as possible; just another example of how the PRA works in our area.”

A trusted solution is important when minutes matter. Critical situations like fires require information to be shared quickly and effectively among residents, alerting everyone to the emergency.

In the early hours of Wednesday, November 10 one of the Panorama Residents Association (PRA) members sent out an emergency message saying there was a fire at the back of their yard and cables were burning.

PRA immediately responded followed by back-up from their security partners who also logged a call with the City of Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS).

Reports indicated that a pile of wood in the neighbour’s yard had caught alight, resulting in some damage to the Telkom infrastructure.

Fortunately the neighbours and PRA managed to put out the fire completely while City of Joburg EMS arrived on scene to confirm that the fire was out.

“When our residents call for help we are there as quick as possible; just another example of how the PRA works in our area,” said PRA chairman Dave Baxter.

Community members residing within the PRA area who have not joined the association are advised to join at R250 per year, running from February to March the following year.

For more info residents are reminded to email info@panoramaRA.co.za and an application form will be sent.
