RSME trains making little ones happy again
Youngsters soaked it all in – the sights, the colours, the sounds and the movements.
We all remember the anticipation we felt as children when something exhilarating was about to happen. Especially when it involved ice cream on a hot summer’s day, playing with friends, and steam locomotives.
On Sunday, November 7 The Rand Society of Model Engineers (RSME) yet again bore witness to the excitement as countless little ones stood fascinated by their various model trains. Youngsters soaked it all in – the sights, the colours, the sounds and the movements associated with the miniature locomotives at Len Rutter Park.
As the trains grew closer for another lap around the park, their smiles and their eyes kept growing bigger. Each time the train screeched and whooshed to a stop at the platform, the little ones yanked their parents closer to make sure they didn’t miss the next trip.

While the children enjoyed numerous trips around the park, friends and family enjoyed the perfect sunny summer weather on picnic blankets under the trees.
RSME committee member, Dennis Applebee was happy to announce that the trains will be operational every Sunday from 09:00 to 16:00 as well as on Saturdays for booked parties.
“We truly appreciate the community’s support. We invite them to bring their little ones to show them what it’s all about,” he said.

Private parties can be booked through the RSME at rsme.florida@gmail.com. So, if you are looking for something to do with the little ones this Sunday, be sure to keep the RSME in mind.
