The first day of school can be both exciting and nerve-racking but it marks the beginning of a child’s educational journey filled with many incredible teachers and experiences.
Traditionally the day is about creating routines and re-establishing the classroom community, although there is little that is routine or established about this year’s start because many learners and teachers spent the last year communicating via screen, rather than in a school setting.

For Boskop Primary School, the maiden day saw the teachers and staff lay out some classroom rules, schedules and expectations while making sure the new learners felt welcome and comfortable.
A moment of excitement and fear could be felt in the air as the newcomers with their guardians ventured into their new classrooms along with their teachers for the first time.
Grade1 learner Angel Egwin said she is excited to be among other learners and wants to make her parents happy at the end of the year.
Boskop Primary School confirmed they have one pair of twins in their Grade 1 class of 2022, and they are in separate classes.
