Islamic Relief and Synergistic Covenant Network combine to help children in need

By dedicating oneself to one’s fellow man, one serves a higher purpose.

Spreading the gift of giving, regardless of faith, Islamic Relief South Africa contributed to keeping clothes on children’s backs. The humanitarian aid agency handed over 60 jerseys and school uniform items to Synergistic Covenant Network (SCN) on January 19. The uniforms were donated to Islamic Relief by the community, handing the responsibility to SCN to distribute them to local schools.

“Our main focus is on seeing to the needs of the most vulnerable groups in society, including children. We support people of all groups and our core business is helping those in need, irrespective of race, religious affiliation and any other discriminatory factor that may exist,” explained Islamic Relief’s Nobesutho Sam. Islamic Relief has projects throughout South Africa and internationally, bringing aid to the victims of war and poverty.

SCN’s Vimla Govender had a heartfelt message of thanks. saying, “We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Islamic Relief for donating school uniforms to the community in and around Davidsonville at this critical time. It is in times like these that we have to unite as a nation to help our fellow citizens. We are really very thankful that they could find it in their hearts to think of people out there who are in need. May God bless Islamic Relief Foundation in abundance and may you go from strength to strength.”
