On Monday, February 7 around 16:30 Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrollers received a call about an accident on Bloekom Drive in Randpark Ridge.
The CPF patrollers were close to the area and managed to get to the scene in less than a minute after receiving the initial call.
They found that a motorcycle and two cars had been involved in the accident.

Emergency services were called immediately to assist the motorbike rider who was lying on the side of the road in a critical condition.
When the paramedics arrived on scene they could not do anything to save his life and he was declared deceased.
There were no other injuries on scene and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
“Our patrollers left the scene just before 22:00. Thank you to everyone who responded to assist; our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased,” said Honeydew CPF PRO Michael Steyn.
Earlier on the same day two Honeydew CPF patrollers came across an accident on the corner of Golf Club Terrace and Constantia Drive.

After stopping and putting on their reflectors they assisted with traffic control while the emergency services were attending to the patients.
Fortunately there were only minor injuries and some of the patients were transported to nearby facilities.
