RA’s team and companies come together for a clean-up
"We are all for community involvement and are looking forward to doing more projects like this one to improve our community. We will also share more info about our AGM which will be held soon.”
On Saturday, January 29 Devon Valley Residents Association (DVRA), Panorama Residents Association (PRA) Weltevreden Park, Beagle Watch Armed Response, Tree felling ZA, and residents partnered up to do a clean-up on 9th Avenue between JG Strydom Road and Rugby Street.
According to the organisers the area ha been really overgrown for months and due to security concerns they all decided to team up and attend to the matter.
The entire area was cut and skoffeled to ensure that the drainage system in the area is functional and open.
“As DVRA we are busy re-establishing our Residents Association, and thought it would be great to get involved with a project like this one, which is on the boundary of our RA.
“We are all for community involvement and are looking forward to doing more projects like this one to improve our community. We will also share more info about our AGM which will be held soon,” said the Chairlady of DVRA Hanlee Fourie.
After the clean-up on 9th Avenue the residents proceeded to Albert Street between Theunis Street and Town Square to do some more cleaning.

PRA Chairman Dave Baxter told the Northsider that DVRA is a new residents association and they decided to assist them as it is a shared road between the two associations.
“We will work closely with them in the future on any of their other projects; we are also going to do our wetland clean-up with them.
“A big thank you to Andre Viljoen from Beagle Watch environmental team who are more than just a security company to us,” said Dave.
Total Devon Valley Service Station and BP Palm Court Fuels assisted by keeping all the workers hydrated on the day.
“It’s really great to partner up with various organisations to better our community. Members of the community can also take part by joining their respective residents associations,” said Hanlee.
